Watching Films
Implementation Date of the “Guidelines for Watching Films”: Since 2013
The library’s film-watching activities are catered towards holidays, current events, and senior citizens as the library has carefully selected popular, educational, or award-winning films that will be screened through theme-based film festivals to promote the library’s collection of audio-visual resources.
Theme Cinema
Screening location: Multimedia Room on the 1st Floor (65 seats)
Screening time: two consecutive films every Thursday afternoon, the first film starts at 14:00 and the second film starts at 16:30
Admission: the first film opens for admission at 13:45, those on the waiting list are admitted at 13:55, and the film starts at 14:00;
The second film will opens for admission at 16:15, those on the waiting list are admitted at 16:25, and the film starts at 16:30.
★After the film has started, people should refrain from entering or leaving the venue to maintain viewing quality
★The primary subtitles of the films at the library are Chinese, and the film will be played using the original publication language
★ Readers who aren’t admitted due to the venue being full are more than welcome to borrow the films at the audio-visual counter on the 2nd Floor to enjoy the films home or simply go to the Film-Watching Area to watch the films at the library.
Theater for Popular Films
Screening location: B1 International Conference Hall (500 seats)
Screening time: screening starts at 14:00 on Sundays (once per month); the screening date is subject to the movie announcement of the month.
Admission: the theater opens for admission 30 minutes before the film is shown (no number slips will be issued and admission is open until the theater is full).
